The God Connection:
24 Ways to Connect Kids with God
I have decided to post my entire eBook “The God Connection: 24 Ways to Connect Kids With God” on this website. Why? … just to bless you!
Another reason is that I would love feedback – what you have found useful from my posts AND you have find works in your family – how do you connect your children to God?. So, I invite your comments on each post.
There will be an option to buy a kindle, ePub or a pdf version from Amazon in the future – you might want to bless a friend and buy a copy for them.
Here is the introduction:
Thank you for purchasing this book. It shows that you have an interest in the things of God and are keen for your children to connect to God but, I am guessing, you just aren’t sure how to go about it. You might have tried family devotions, maybe even a series of books or programs but to no avail. Your kids are bored and nothing from the Word of God seems to be entering their hearts.
I remember times from my childhood where Dad would get down the thick family devotion book and my sisters and I had to sit very still at the dinner table while Dad preached to us. It wasn’t a regular event but a once-in-a-while kind of thing. I guess those were the times when Dad felt he had better make an effort. Or it might have been around the times when there was more arguing in the house and Dad wanted our behaviour to improve. I remember my sisters complaining of boredom.
It doesn’t have to be like that!
If you are passionate about Jesus Christ and love God then following some of these ideas will go a long way towards connecting your child to God through His Word. It is good to remind ourselves, that we don’t have the power to convert our children – only the Holy Spirit can convict and create a new spirit inside your child- but we do have the responsibility to point them to God. We are so fortunate to have His Word to do that.
The first part of this book will lay a strong foundation on the importance of including God and His Word in your parenting and in your children’s education. This section will encourage you, as the parent, in your own personal walk with God. It will give you a strong inner motivation to impart God’s truths and principles for life into your children’s lives.
The second section is the “hands on” part. The “how-tos”. I will give you 24 practical ideas on how you can include God and His Word into your family life, naturally!
Even if you only implement one idea, you and your family will benefit!
God has given us His own promise –
“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 ESV)
If you will commit to just putting one of these 24 ideas into action, God takes over and His Word will produce something good in your children and in your family.
